By the Way

Just so you know, our camera is dead. I had it in the diaper bag, and the sippy cup wasn't shut all the way, and the snack bag was open, talk about graham cracker mud. Sooo you get the idea. No pics for a while. I think when/if we get a new one, I'll have a snack baggie all for it's own.

On the Lookout

My friend, Nancy McMurtrey and her sweet husband, Josh, are waiting for a baby. They have made the wonderful decision to adopt, and are waiting for a birth mother to choose them. I am adding their adoption profile to my blog, so if you know of anyone who is looking for two loving parents for her baby, please refer her here. Nancy has been a special friend to me for almost ten years, and I will always love her for her ready smile, silly giggle, and listening ear. She is such a sweet example to all those who come in contact with her, and I hope that she knows just how special she is. Nancy, I love you.

About us.

So I feel like I am constantly chatting about my little girl, so I thought I'd write a bit about Mo and myself.

Mo is still in school majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcasting and minoring in Graphic design. Here is a link to his blog where some of his videos are. He dreams of being a sports anchor for ESPN. He recently landed an internship with Local news 8 in Idaho Falls where he will be an assistant to the sports anchor Scott. He is also the coach for one of the soccer teams on campus, the Zwakalaz. He is the first counselor in a bishopric for a student ward on campus, which means Zuki and I go to our ward alone. I don't mind it at all. After all, it's been this way since Zuki was born, and he does get to come visit every once in a while. Mo is a full time anchor for I-News, our school's news program. I am so proud of my sweet man, he works so hard, and is always dreaming big. He is so motivated and appreciates what he has, and is always willing to do spontaneous things with me. I know he will go far in life, and I am anxious to see his dreams come true.

As for me, I am very grateful and happy to be at home with our little girl. She is such a joy and a blessing to us, and is constantly showing us what life is all about. I graduated from BYU-I April of 2008, with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. I plan on being a stay at home mom as long as I can, and once the kids are all in school, I will begin my Masters program in marriage and family therapy.

The Lord has truly blessed us beyond anything either one of us ever hoped for, and we strive everyday to show Him our appreciation by doing what we can to live the gospel and help others. Everyday is a lesson of life, and we take the good from it. We believe that this is what life is about.

Climbing Baby.

In the dishwasher...

In the oven drawer...

And on the couch.

In The 'Hood Hair

So I tried dreadlocks for the first time today. Took forever. Zuki was crying and wanting to cuddle with everything in sight, so I ended up with two towels, a blanket, and four stuffed animals in my lap with "Handy Manny" blaring on TV, just so that she would sit still for me to finish her hair. She is so funny.

New Place

This is the back yard.

This is the front yard and storage shed.

This is what you see when/if you come to visit.

And here is the living room and kitchen. I will post pics of the other rooms when I get them cleaned. What do ya think?

Cuddle bug Daddy!

Somebody loves her daddy!

Just Like Mommy

So, I was folding the laundry, and things got quiet in my room, and this is what I found. I have no idea how she knew to put the bag on like that. She also put one of my necklaces on the same way, under one arm. soooo cute.

Graham Snackies!

So, graham crackers are good snacks, right?

It's just Like a Cloud!

Zuki loves the movement of fabric, it's like she can't breathe she is so excited. This is the bottom sheet as I was fluffing it out to fold it. She went crazy for a half an hour. needless to say, she slept very well last night.

Hair Stylin'

So, I am always amazed at how long her hair is. I can only wash it once or twice a week because if I did more, her hair would dry out an d break. We have to comb it out when it has shampoo in it, because it is CRAZY curly. Love love love it. I can't wait until its super long and her pigtails look like mickey mouse ears. Sooo Excited.

Zuki!!!

Sitting in Mommies pan. She did this for five minutes. Don't know what she was expecting to happen.

Grabbed her monkey, rolled over, and took a nap.

Waiting for the prayer to be over. (Grandmama Luan made the bib...isn't it CUTE?)

Grinning in Grandmama's favorite color.

Okay, So I know a lot of you (mostly family) have been waiting for pictures of Zuki's birthday. It was sunday the 5th of April, and we had a family party. We made a homemade Cookie Monster which is our favorite dessert at Craigo's pizza restaurant. Sadly, I am not sure where the photos got downloaded. Still looking. (and sooooooo frustrated).

Happy St. Pats!!!

So, I decided to try my hand at documenting an event. Yesterday was soooo crazy. I'll try to keep my story short. OK. First of all, St. Patrick's day has become a tradition in our little family. I make corned beef, cooked cabbage, and cooked carrots for dinner. When I went shopping for the corned beef, I discovered that none of the local grocery stores had any! So...I had to drive to Idaho Falls which is a 30 minute drive. When I got to Winco (whom I KNOW carries corned beef), I didn't have my wallet. Well, I didn't want to make anything else for dinner (plus we were having company), so I drove all the way back home, got my wallet, and drove all the way back (did I mention that Zuki is not used to long car rides and was upset the whole time?). When we got home, I put the beef in my big pot, and commenced to make sugar cookies for the first time. These turned out great. Then I started to peel the carrots, and chop the cabbage, and realized my pot wasn't big enough, and I would need another big pot, so I ran over to my friends apartment to borrow a pot, and just as I shut the door, my heart sank as I realized I had locked myself out (thank goodness Zuki was sleeping). So, I ran and got the pot, and also borrowed one of her credit cards so that I could pick my lock. By the time I got into the apartment, I was way behind schedule. Then I realized that I had a meeting later on that I wouldn't be able to make, so I called the girl I was supposed to meet with and asked her if she wouldn't mind coming over so that I could explain her calling to her (she was called to my calling), she told me she would be over in ten minutes. Mo called right after I hung up, and said he was ready to be picked up. AHHH! So, I woke Zuki up, and we rushed to get Mo, and got back just as the girl was coming to see me. Then our guests came, and THEN...our Home Teachers came over. Mo had made and appointment, and totally forgot about it. I didn't even know. I had to laugh. After all this, I forgot to take pictures of the food and our guests. Grrr. I will do better next time.

Teeth

Here are her top teeth!!! She's figuring out how to bite, I mean, not people, but food and stuff like that. I hope she doesn't start biting other people.

Look at her eyelashes!!! I wish mine were that long.

This is after a VERY long day at church. I had early morning meetings starting at 7:45, and then church from 9-12, and then a presidency meeting right after, and then a meeting with the Bishop. We didn't get back until 2:30, and she hadn't slept at all at church. She crashed for three hours. That was nice.

New things with Zuki

Discovering toilet paper was such a joy.

Peeking in on Daddy!

Playtime!

This is the first pizza I ever made from scratch! Soooo yummy!

Loves helping out in the kitchen!

Okay, so we were watching American Idol, and we realized it was too quiet, so we looked to see what Zuki was up to, and she was eating this piece of chocolate...not only the chocolate, but the wrapper too!!!

Ahem...

Where do FLIES come from???? I do not like that annoying little buzzing sound of a fly on the inside of my window. I have shrink-wrapped my windows, so they aren't coming from the outside of the windows, and my door is NEVER open, mainly because I have a sweet little one who would take a tumble down the stairs, AND the flies come one at a time. I chase one around the apartment, and by the time I have broken a knick-knack, and my hair is out of whack, the fly is dead and flushed down the toilet. Two days later, there is another one and it starts all over again!!! You'd think if they are being hatched inside my apartment, there would be more than one at a time. So...Where are they coming from? Maybe its a slow invasion. Maybe they think I'll get tired of chasing their little soldiers down, and let them live...then they might send two the next time. OR!!! They could be cameras...little flying robots...does anyone else have any ideas??? I am running out of knick-knacks!

Ummmm

Okay, so I know I am a little late getting back to the real world. Mo and I have had a very weird few weeks, from our car trouble in Elko, to my Grampa passing away, and lost keys in the snow (talk about a needle in a haystack). On top of that, Mo got a new computer this semester, and thus all the pictures have been going onto his computer, and not mine. This will complicate blog matters. Don't worry, I am determined to get all these stories out one at a time, They don't have pictures to go with them, but, I'll post some you haven't seen. What a weird year we have started.
