Late Halloween

Mo and his best friend Stevie at our ward Halloween Party

Mo was so proud of his costume, I had to buy a new eyeliner pencil be the time he was done with the facial hair. The back of his shirt says "not guilty" (he's supposed to be an ex-con).

Biracial?

I forgot i had this picture! These are all the biracial couples that Mo and I hang out with. This was at Eric and Kelly's wedding reception. Eric is from Mdantsane, the same place Mo is from. They grew up together. We have a blast together. It's easy to relax around them, and easy to talk. We really need to get together more, though. The couple on the left graduated and moved away, and I'm left wishing I had gotten to know them better. That just shows that you have to live your life as if tomorrow is the end. I don't like living with regret. Besides, what if we missed out on a really great friendship? We don't always get second chances.

The Grandparents

When my mom and dad came to visit, I could hardly wait for them to show up. When they finally did, they came in the door, and I got a hug from dad, and mom took Zuki from me. I didn't get a hug from her until later. It was such a sweet moment when mom held Zuki and looked at her. The tears were flowing, and I knew I wouldn't have to do much but feed and change diapers for the next few days. Mom was going to love that little girl like nothing else. And that's what we did all week; nothing else. We sat, chatted and held the baby. I am so glad that mom and dad were able to come for as long as they did. It was such a wonderful help to me, and I know that they loved being with their granddaughter.

Joy and Love

So, Even though Zuki is a little upset, I love this picture. It almost makes me want to cry. This shows the joy that Mo feels. He is such a good daddy. He loves our little girl so much. The blessing that he gave her was so sweet.

Learning

I have been admonished by an older sister to start my own blog. I don't really have anything else to do, and I need to discover hobbies. My mind has been blank concerning what to blog about, but, as I start, new ideas are popping into my head already. This blog will be about our little family, me, Mo, and Zuki, our sweet little new addition. Over the past two weeks, I have often sat and looked at Zuki, wondering about her, but mostly wondering about what kind of a parent I will be. I took several classes about childhood development and parenting principles, but I feel less prepared now that she is actually here. I guess we will learn together as she grows. I guess that is something that I never thought of before. We learn as we grow. Well, of course I've thought about it, but the truth of it has never really hit me until now. Zuki will learn as she grows the fundamentals of life, and I will grow and learn from her about life, and how important it really is. What can I teach her? I can teach her love, and the rest will follow.
