Been So Long!

So sorry I haven't posted for so long.  Mo got an internship at Deseret Digital Media down in Salt Lake City.  It's a three month internship with a promising possibility of a full time position at the end.  Fingers crossed!  Our contract at our apartment is over at the end of August, so I am staying up here while Mo goes down for the internship.  He's coming home to visit on the weekends, and boy do I miss him during the week.  At the end of August, we have a family reunion in Twin Falls, and at the end of that, I am going home with my parents to California for the rest of the internship.  I am excited to be with family (and not alone), but I will miss Mo terribly since he won't be able to come home on weekends.

 So, I've started giving Zuki chores, and her favorites are vacuuming and wiping the tv.

 I am OBSESSED with this hairdo.  It took me three and a half hours to do.  I LOVE it!

This jean skirt usually goes down past her knees, but she pulled her pink tutu on underneath, so funny.  Loving the boots, right?

This is at a birthday party.  Zuki had so much fun, and it was her first experience with relay races. well, most of the other kids first experiences with relay races, and it was SO FUNNY to watch a bunch of three year olds trying to pass water balloons back and forth with out popping them, and trying to fill up a bucket by squeezing water out of a giant sponge.  All the parents were dying with laughter.  I wish I had a video.

So...we really wanted to get out of the house and do something fun last week.  We scrounged up a couple of dollars and went to "Fat Cats" to play some video games.  They have some really fun ones for Zuki.

 Usually, with two bucks, we walk away with anywhere between 40 to 80 tickets, and we are saving up for something big. Well, we used all our coins and the last game we played had its ticket dispenser open, so we told the attendant, and for being honest (instead of stealing all the tickets), he gave us two more coins.  Mo took Zuki off to explore, and left me with the two coins not knowing which game I wanted to play.  I played Skee Ball with one and totally lost, then I remembered I had always wanted to try this truck one.

 The idea is to send your coin down the ramp and try to make it into the bed of the truck.  If you make it in, you get ten tickets, if you hit a special lever on the truck, it will dump it, and you get five tickets per coin, so, I aimed for the lever.  I missed it and was disappointed, until tickets started spilling out of the dispenser.  See the orange rectangles with two arrows pointing to the middle?  Well, there is a slot there, and I accidentally shot my coin in there! Each one is worth 100 or 200 or 260 tickets.

 Here we are waiting to see how many we won...

 I hit the jackpot!  260 tickets!  Add our two dollars worth...

 304 for the evening.  We are adding it to our ticket savings...

 By the way...we can't wait for the smurfs!

 Gramama and Papa brought this outfit for Zuki...she adores it!  She was pretending to be a ballerina all day.  I can't wait until we can get her into a dance class. I think she will be amazing.

Malaika's Blessing Week

This is a really long post...lots of pictures and adventures, so here we go.

 First of all, this is the first "picture" she's ever drawn besides people.  It is a picture of her and Malaika watching a rainbow.  She is adding Grandmama and Papa.

 It seemed like we were waiting forever for Grandmama and Papa to come.  I was really hot when I woke up...guess why.

 YAY! Grandmama and Papa finally arrived!

 Then we had a picnic at Porter Park on a very windy and cold day...without napkins, plates or cups.

 Then Zuki wanted to ride on the Carousel.

 And then convinced me to hop on one myself.  FUN!

 See those photos on the wall?  Those are the pictures of people who have conquered the one pounder, two pounder, or three pounder hamburger.  Amazing.

After Big Juds, we needed some exercise, so we went back to the park for the water.

 Grandmama is an awesome baby holder.

 Then we were tired.

We had an awesome week, and the blessing day was perfect!  Thanks to everyone who participated, and for those who thought of us from far away. We love our friends and family, thank you, thank you, for being such an important part of our lives.  You are what it's all about.
